Fun With Family

We had a great visit with my aunt and uncle and my cousins all the way from IN! Their little one just turned 1! It was great to see everyone and the kids had a blast with their cousin

Happy Birthday Babies!!

I can't believe our babies are 2!! They had a great b-day. Aunt Deb came to town to help us get ready for their party and her and Lilly became fast friends (Aunt Boddy)! She was there for their real b-day (along with Nana, Papa, and Aunt Mey-Mey). Their party was the following Sat and a lot of fun...we still are floored over the number of people that came to celebrate from so far away! Only a handful of the 40+ people that came lived in VA!! The majority traveled 2 hours or more to be here. Only downfall of the day - we have no pictures!!! We notice that it really happens a lot with twins...when mom and dad's hands are fullof baby - ther is no room for a camera!! Hopefully someone who was there will send us some pictures. Here are a few we have pre-party. One of John Andrew trying to pull a fast one...and the other...well I still can't figure that one out yet. They opened their respective presents, played with them, then immediately pitched a fit, cried and screamed wanting what the other one had!! Then back to their own presents and haven't (to this day) touched the other one's toy. The third pic...well let's just say Daddy enjoyed the lincoln logs more than the kids did!!!

Bring On The Snow Baby

Bought these from another mom who has b/g twins a bit older that JA&L. Aren't they cute???

Big Move and Halloween

We moved into the new house on the 30th...went much smoother than the last move. We had lots of help which was a god-send. Both sets of parents, Aunt Mey-Mey (Meg) and Aunt Barb & Uncle Jack. Couldn't have done it with out all of their help!!

Halloween...since we were able to get everything moved over on the 30th...the kids were able to trick-or-treat in the new neighborhood. Lots of fun! John Andrew was a bat and Lilly was a cat. They loved the costumes and hats this time around...and totally "got" the concept of candy! Lilly was still a little apprehensive and wanted Daddy to hold her...while John Andrew ran as fast as he could from house to house...only to crawl up our legs when he got to the front doors. All in all it was a great day and we even got to celebrate Grandma's birthday with her and Poppy.
Okay - Johnny taking over the blogging didn't help things much...we both are horrible bloggers!! So I will try to get everyone up to speed. More pictures than words - but let's face it - that is what everyone is looking for anyway. We know our place...John and I are chopped liver when it comes to pics of the babies (who are not babies anymore!! Spell check doesn't work - so I apologize in advance.

House Update

As promised - here are some pics of the new house! It is almost done...just some finishing touches left on the inside...and sodding/landscaping on the outside. We are beyond excited. Our settlement date is Oct 28th...so we will not only be in for the babies' birthday...but for their first Halloween as official "costume wearing, candy-eating, doorbell ringing, trick-or-treaters!" Enjoy the pics : )

Oh - and for those of you who may not know already...my mom and dad's big move up north is 10 days before our move! What are the odds??!! They will be about 40 minutes from us, which is very exciting.

Updates

We have made some basic changes to the color scheme and added a slideshow of all the pictures posted on here over the past year or so. We are hoping to get better at keeping updated pictures on here!
The new house now has walls and should be done sometime in late October. We will get out and take some pictures of the house this weekend and get them posted for all to see.

Here are a couple of cute ones taken recently:

Summer Fun

Here are some more recent pics. Some from our visit with Nana and Papa Boss in Pawleys Island (we had a great time) and a few others from our ventures around town. More beach pictures to come (still sorting) - but it went much better this time around. John Andrew LOVED the sand, waves, shells...you name it. Lilly...well...what can I say...she takes after her mama. She is more of a pool girl...not loving the sand! She kept yelling "Mama!! Mama! Toe!" for me to come brush grains of sand of her toes! Once she made it down to the hard wet sand and surf she was loving life (from the safety of her crocs that is). And can you believe Miss Lilly!!?? What a difference a month makes. She LOVED the rides this time...looks like an old pro doesn't she!? We found out what the secret was to getting her to give it a try. We quick threw her and John Andrew in a helicopter ride - buckled them up together - threw a pacifier in her mouth - and ran like mad! Before she figured out what was going on the ride started and she was flying through the air. Yeah...I know what you are thinking...but don't worry...we have a fund set up exclusively for her therapy already! Oh...and the porch pictures were taken before our first trip to the County Fair. Forgot the camera in the car. It was a lot of fun. Aunt Meg came along for the fun! .John Andrew LOVED the animals...and the bigger the better (which surprised us). He loved the huge beef cattle (tried to pet one and gave me a heart attck) and the 500lb pigs. Lilly liked the sheep and bunny exhibit. And everybody (except Daddy who went broke) loved the duck game. Remember that one??!! The one where you pick up a rubber duck in the water and turn it over to see what you have won. Ever try to tell a toddler "all done...no more" after the 30th duck!!?? If so - no need to explain...you know how well that went! Lots of screaming...ducks flying...and everybody was wet!
Enjoy!

Hair Today...Gone Tomorrow

Well the day finally came! We woke up one morning, looked at our sweet babies, and then looked at each other in horror! We had only moved 20 miles west…but I guess that was all it took. Both of our kids had mullets! Watch out Cartoon Cuts…here we come…

Trip to NJ

In June we headed up to NJ to visit with John's family. We stayed at John's brother's house and we (adults) had a good time catching up (and playing Rock Band) and the kids had a blast hanging out with Grandma and Poppy and their cousin Mikey! Saturday, we all headed to the boardwalk. John Andrew and Mikey had a great time on the rides! It was John Andrew's first time. I almost threw up watching my baby go on a ride all by himself like a big boy. I think he wanted to throw up a little too when that fish started moving! But by the time he hit the fire truck ride...he was an old pro and having a great time. "What about Lilly?" you ask...well you can see for yourself how well that went...maybe next time...

Better Late Then Never...

Hi All! Or should I say “y’all” now that we have wandered deeper into Virginia! We are finally settled and loving life in Purcellville. (Just in case you didn't know already...we FINALLY sold our townhouse in May and are now renting a house while we are waiting for our new house to be finished). We love the town a lot. Very cute and homey…like Mayberry…but with a Giant and a 7-11! The first few weeks we were here John and I kept asking each other “Do you know them?” because everybody waves to you while you are out and about. And everyone knows our little wagon. I drag the kids into town almost every day in the wagon…and then we do a neighborhood walk again when dad gets home from work. The house we are renting (a 1910 Victorian right on Main Street)…well let’s just say it is “interesting.” Don’t get me wrong, it is a neat old house with the original wood floors and tin roof and transoms…but it is OLD...with all the creaks and “creepy things” that come along with old houses (like strange noises, door knobs that fall off in your hand, and a wet cellar that I have yet to enter…and if all goes well…I will never have to). But the house is in a great location, it has a great yard and the kids (man I hope this doesn’t jinx us) have slept like ROCKS since the day we moved in. Here are some pictures...

Quick Update

Hi Everybody! Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great holiday! Sorry we haven't posted...but you know how crazy it gets. We had a wonderful Christmas and were able to visit with everyone this year, which was fun. Let's see...what is new and exciting here...

Babies are doing well...just turned 14 months! Can you believe it??!! Both are walking now. John Andrew started about a week after Lilly but we have not been able to download the video for you all to see him. So needless to say - life is much more interesting around here with 2 on the move...always in opposite directions too! They are so much fun now...like little sponges. Lilly's favorite thing is reading (and eating) books and pointing out noses, mouths and eyes on everything and everybody. I swear we are all going to get conjunctivitis. John Andrew is into examining the wheels, bolts, latches on EVERYTHING...and has recently learned how to make fart noises on his arm, which keeps him (and Lilly who falls over laughing over it) busy. They love playing peek-a-boo and chasing each other too!

Meg and Razzy are doing well too. They are settling in and enjoying the babies. The babies love Aunt Meg (and Razzy too). She is a great help and lots of fun for the babies and me. It is great to have a girlfriend to talk to...a nice "bridge" for me back to the real world...you know the place where people don't use words like "poo-poo" and "night-night."

The house...ugh...the house. Well - our new house is absolutely beautiful and finished. It is even more beautiful than we imagined. And if you love it as much as we do...you can buy for yourself because it is FOR SALE!!! We haven't been able to sell our current house yet (it has been on the market 8 months now)...so the builder had to list our new house! We are absolutely sick over this. We can still get into the new house if we sell this one before someone else buys the new one...so we haven't lost all hope...but it is just disheartening. We just haven't been able to get people in here to even look at the place! There are just so many foreclosures and quick sales in our area we just haven't been able to compete. But we did one last price drop...and traffic has started to pick up (more people in the last two weeks than have been in the first 7 months on the market). With this last drop we stand to make hardly anything off of this house...but right now our goal is to just get out and get out of limbo!

Have to run and feed the babies breakfast! I have some Christmas pics and videos that I will post sometime over the next few days.

So long for now!
